Finding a natural deodorant that actually works is not an easy task. Even though some potential health problems are associated with conventional aluminium deodorants for a few decades, the alternatives haven’t been strong enough to make the swap until now.
Depositing toxic elements like synthetic fragrances and aluminium onto the skin (especially the underarms) seems not the best option. While aluminium antiperspirants can really do the job of reducing odour by blocking sweat ducts, this can lead up to potential irritation, sensitive underarms and even make your pits smell worse in the long term. By making the switch to an effective but natural deodorant, your body can naturally shed toxins, maintain a stable temperature, and stay clean and feeling fresh with a good smell.

Lucky us, many green beauty companies are developing great natural deodorants that work without any synthetic fragrance, parabens, aluminium, and toxic ingredients.
How does natural deodorant work?
- Our axila create moisture
- The bacteria eats the moisture and that’s the reason why it generate the smell
- Then the deodorant slays the bacteria to prevent the smell
Something to keep in mind is that switching from chemical deodorants to natural deodorants can involve a few weeks as the body needs to adjust. This can scare people at the beginning of the process and tight back to traditional deodorant; however, this adjustment is totally worth it after a few weeks.
Are natural deodorants better?
When using traditional deodorants, we deposit synthetic fragrance (an ingredient that is legally used to mask hundreds of other ingredients) and aluminium antiperspirants onto our thin skin. Traditional antiperspirant build-up mix with the bacteria that causes sweat and make the odour even worse. Personally, I don’t seem worth doing that, especially because many incredible clean beauty companies are developing great natural formulas that keep you smelling fresh without all the toxics.
