Soft glam paired with bright lips for summer 2022

With summer officially in full swing, I have shades of fuchsia, red and orange on my mind. I’m loving the look of bold bright lips and even more so when paired with soft, neutral eyes.

Key products for this look:

·   Satin foundation (Nars – Sheer Glow Foundation).

·   Highlighter (Christina Sikalias – Luce Del Sole Illuminating Powder).

·   Bright Matte Lipstick (SUPER STAY MATTE INK LONGWEAR LIQUID LIPSTICK in the shades HEROINE or ROMANTIC).

·   Liquid liner (NYX EPIC WEAR LIQUID LINER – BLACK).

Tips for this look:

·   Line your upper lid. If you’re craving a little more definition, line only the upper lids with black liner. It’s the definition of classic and goes with any hue lipstick.

·   Use a lip pencil in the same shade as your lipstick to trace your lip line, then fill in your lips.

·   Apply lipstick using a lip brush for more of a defined shape and clean up any mistakes with a little foundation if needed.

·   The rest of your makeup should be paired back. Bronzey, luminous fresh skin, liquid liner along top lashes and mascara. Don’t forget to curl lashes – this will help give your eyes a more open and lifted look.

Glossy goodness

This year, I’m obsessing over glossy textures, and not just for lips, but for your eyelids and cheeks too. A stunning shimmery glow across your face can instantly elevate any makeup look.

Tips for this look:

For lips, apply an ultra-glossy, high-shine gloss like the Christina Sikalias Luce Del Sole Gloss – it can be worn alone or layered over lip liner or lipstick. It also has a subtle amount of pearls to achieve the perfect amount of shimmering shine.

For cheeks and eyes use a clear gloss, which is suited for eyes and cheeks specifically!

For the eyes – apply with a flat brush and glide gloss on bare eyelids or over eyeshadow. For cheeks, if you plan to use foundation, make sure it’s a light liquid foundation as the gloss can move products underneath and get messy.

·   A little goes a long way

·   Gently tap gloss over cheekbones and blend – helps gloss sink into the skin and feel less less sticky.

·   Love this technique as it gives a glassy skin look.

The underrated makeup tip that women should try out more?

Eyebrows need two shades! Fill in brows using two different shades of eyebrow pencil, one two shades lighter and one two shades darker. Use the darker shade to fill in the outer brows starting at the arch for a more lifted look and the lighter pencil to fill in the inner brows, so they look softer and more natural.

If you had to choose one product that every woman should own from your collection, which one should be?

My pick is the Luce Del Sole Eye Palette – it’s a vibrant, versatile palette with ten universally flattering shades of warm and cool tones to complement your mood and style. It allows you to create a variety of looks – whether you want to channel your bold, imaginative, sensual or sexy side – there’s endless possibilities to create and redefine!

Any tips on how to apply a highlighter like a pro?

Highlighter is one of my favourite makeup products as it has so many different uses. Not only does it produce a lit-from-within glow that we’re all obsessed with, but it also helps to accentuate your favourite features.

It’s important to use a finely milled powder that effortlessly melts into skin and provides a subtle shimmer that can be built up, like our Luce Del Sole Illuminating Powder which is quadruple-milled and has a lighter-than-air finish.

I like to use a fluffy tapered brush to apply highlighter – the trick is to use it sparingly in areas that you want to illuminate. For example, you can use it on your body for an all over glow, I love to place it on the collarbones and centre of the shoulder. Another trick to give the illusion of fuller lips is to place highlighter above the upper lip on the cupid’s bow. Not only does the shimmer look great on the high points of the face, but also as shimmery eye shadow on the lid, inner corner to brighten up the eyes or to highlight right under the brow bone.

We all know that glowy skin is a trend at the moment, but how do we achieve a dewy natural look without breaking the bank?

The trick to achieving a dewy, natural look is to prep the skin well and use light layers of a satin finish foundation. Less is more, so this look won’t break the bank.

Tips for this look:

·   Make sure your skin is clean and moisturised first.

·   Make sure that you have no dry patches as it can make the skin rough, and foundation will not go on as smoothly. Use an emollient moisturiser.

·   The perfect formula to make your foundation look like second skin is a satin finish foundation like the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk or Nars Sheer Glow – if these are too full coverage for you, you can always add a little moisturiser to your foundation – it’ll dial down the coverage and give skin more of a natural finish.

·   Use a damp beauty blender to apply and bounce the foundation into your skin as opposed to ‘painting’ it on to build coverage smoothly and avoid streakiness.

·   Only apply where necessary!

·   For added glow, brush a small amount of highlighter (Christina Sikalias – Luce Del Sole Illuminating Powder) to the high points of the face such as the cheekbones, brow bones, cupid’s bow, and down the bridge of your nose.

·   To finish off the look and seal it all in, dust a little bit of translucent powder to the T-zone areas of the face that are prone to oil build up and shine.
