How does LED masks work?

The LED masks work depending on the colour of the light you choose.  A LED face mask brings multiple benefits to the skin, from stimulating collagen to plumping the skin while treating acne.

Benefits

  • Reduce fine lines.
  • Improve the production of collagen and elastin.
  • Fight acne and damage caused by UV rays.
  • Minimise inflammation.
  • Improve skin tone.
  • Fade dark circles.

Type of light in LED masks

Red LED Light Mask

The red light works well in skin types that suffer from inflammation and redness as it stimulates circulation and cell regeneration—ideal for giving your face back its natural vitality—.

Orange LED Light Mask

The orange led light is great for regenerating skin cells, revitalising and illuminating the face without fail as a complete energy boost.

Blue LED Light Mask

Great for oily and acne-prone skin, blue light LED masks are excellent allies, thanks to their antibacterial function that penetrates the pores deeply, purifying the skin, regulating the sebaceous glands and fighting the bacteria that cause acne breakouts.

Green LED Light Mask

From eliminating excessive hyperpigmentation to accelerating healing and regeneration, these are the benefits that green LED light has on the skin. Did we also mention that the green light also fades dark circles? Winner.

Infrared LED Light Mask

The top of the cherry in the LED game, this light penetrates deeply, encouraging cell regeneration and promoting the natural production of collagen and elastin. Without a doubt, among the LED light masks, this is the most effective in curbing the signs of aging.

Who can use an LED face mask?

The non-invasive treatment is suitable for all skin types. However, if you suffer from skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis, it’s worth seeking medical advice as well as if you’re pregnant.

CurrentBody Skin LED mask review

CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask Review

I’ve heard about the CurrentBody LED face mask for a while. As a beauty enthusiast, I was waiting for the right time to road-test it and see if it was worth the hype, so when I started the third season of Emily in Paris and saw Cooper prepping herself with CurrentBody Skin LED, I knew I needed to give it a go.

One of my biggest skin issues at the moment is my texture, I have suffered in the past from acne, and my uneven texture didn’t want to even out, so if you tell me last year that by now, the texture of my skin would change completely by using at-home skincare devices, I wouldn’t have believed you.

The Currentbody LED mask is straightforward to operate; it only takes ten minutes per day — And It automatically switches off after you use it — Also, you need to use it three to four times per week actually to see results.

I first cleanse my face and leave it free of any products before putting on the LED mask; this is important to keep in mind because if you put on any skincare, it would block the LED light, so you won’t be able to see results.

The mask also comes with a head strap that you can attach to your face so you can take a moment to wind down and relax. When the mask turns off,  I like to disinfect the inside to get it ready for my next use. You can then follow up with your favourite skincare products.

I have used this mask around four days a week for a period of time of two months, and I have noticed a massive improvement in the way my skin looks. From texture to my skin tone, everything looks fresher, brighter and more even. Overall? I’m a fan; if you’re looking for an effective, at-home LED light therapy treatment that is easy to use and delivers results this is for you.

The price tag is relatively high ($515.00) — but you can be sure it does deliver on its claim. My justification: It’s a derm visit and spa day, all in one.

Now, you can add the discount code CAVIAR15 and get 15% off from the entire Currentbody LED range!
