The new health and wellness program KAAIAA has launched its studio classes and online platform, allowing to go beyond the physical self in training (Some people even cry during the class as a huge cathartic release of emotion often occurs during the session)
Created by Australian Leah Simmons, KAAIAA is a complete workout that trains the 4 Pillars of Health (Mental, Physical, Emotional and Spiritual) to strengthen, support and enhance every aspect of your life.

CF team spoke with founder Leah Simmons to find out how this revolutionary program allows you to go beyond the physical self in training usually require additional layering and provide zero warmth factor.

KAAIAA

Was there a particular moment or idea that inspired you to create KAAIAA?

There wasn’t any particular moment… KAAIAA is basically a culmination of all of my own personal experiences, beginning with my career as a DJ, moving into the fitness industry and then focusing on health and wellness. I have always been someone who has wanted to get the most out of my training programs and work as efficiently as possible. So I created KAAIAA as a way to gain maximum benefit in minimum time. It combines all of my favourite (and most effective) modalities into ONE workout, so if, at the very least, that’s all you do… then you have everything covered!

Why is targeting mental, emotional and spiritual health in addition to physical health so important?

I started asking myself what it actually meant to be “healthy”. Society focuses so much on our physical health – which is great – however it is just ONE part of what it means to be fit. We are so much MORE than just a body. We are emotions, connections, decisions, relationships, thoughts… and as a working PT and Pilates instructor, I realised fairly quickly that just training your body wasn’t enough to make you happy.

Sure it will give you the physical results you may desire, but it has little to no effect on the other areas of your life. How do you enhance your relationships, your mindset, your overall feelings of fulfilment? Finding ways to “train” your mental, emotional and spiritual health can drastically improve the quality of your life. With consistency, you start to feel better, have better conversations and make better decisions. And for me, THAT is why it is so important.

Do you have a favourite memory from planning, founding and now running KAAIAA?

I absolutely love reflecting on my journey up to this point. It has been a wild ride, that’s for sure! But, even if I didn’t know it, I was always somehow manifesting KAAIAA at various stages of my life through the questions I was asking, the answers I was seeking and the willingness to step outside my comfort zone. And I am proud that such a personal project of mine is resonating so much with the people around me. Everyone that is in our team is there because of the practice in some way, shape or form, and I get excited to see what each new day brings!

What is your vision for the future of this revolutionary program?

KAAIAA is life-changing. I know because it changed mine. So the vision for KAAIAA is simple. One person. One class. Every day. And sooner or later, the planet will start to reap the rewards of having a more conscious, connected race of people inhabiting it.

Do attendees need to have had previous yoga experience to participate in the classes?

Absolutely not! KAAIAA is for anyone with a basic level of fitness. It is quite energetic however, there are plenty of modifications to the exercises, and people are encouraged to go at their own pace. We will soon be launching our Beginner and Pre/Post Natal classes, but there is no prior experience of any type of fitness modality required. Just an open mind and a willingness to try something new!

Are online classes available?

They sure are! Head to kaaiaa.com and select On-Demand. There are a variety of pricing options available.

How many classes would you recommend per week?

It really depends on what you want! At the very minimum, you can leave a KAAIAA class knowing you have looked after ALL pillars of health – but I do know that people like to ease their way into this sort of training sometimes! So it is totally up to the individual. I would treat it like any other training program, though… Practice makes perfect, and consistency is key.
