We spoke with Gorgeous Casey Burgess (Glowy Queen) about all things skincare and how her beauty routine looks like. dry skin face

First of all, it’s important to understand the difference between moisturizing and hydrating ingredients is vital. Skin hydration is given by using hydrating ingredients like water, Squalane, Hyaluronic acid… Whereas moisturizing ingredients help keep that hydration locked in, so using the right products with the right ingredients that help moisturize and hydrate your skin is important, especially during Winter. These are the ingredients that will help keep your skin hydrated and full of life.

Cassey said that takes a lot of effort to look fresh and clean and beatified just for hanging out in the lounge room. However she has found, during this time, that it is important to look after yourself and perfect your beauty routine, especially as days become cooler, and our skin tends to become drier. Using ingredients in your beauty products that nourish your skin, is vital.

These are the 5 ingredients Casey incorporates in her daily routine to avoid dry skin in winter:

1. Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid has been one of the most talked-about skin care ingredients for the past few years, and for good reason. Think of it as a big drink of water for your skin, it is the key to reducing fine lines and helps to get your skin glowing from within. It can be found in a range of products from face masks to serums and is a must on getting our winter skin hydration.

2. H2O

It’s no surprise that water is the number one ingredient in a lot of skincare products. Did you know that the first five ingredients on a label make up about 80 percent of the product? Water helps absorb the effectiveness of the other ingredients in the product, helping them sink into the skin better. Water is also extremely cooling on the skin, so great for people who suffer from acne, eczema, rosacea, and other inflammatory conditions. A spray of water-based toner or using a water-based cream can do wonders for irritation and skin hydration.

Not one beauty routine is complete without taking care of our inside, why? Beauty always begins inside of you.

3. Oblepikha

Oblepikha is a berry from Siberia that has learned to adapt to the harshest of climates. That’s why vitamin C within the product regardless of its environment doesn’t collapse. It is also an exceptional natural source of vitamins A and E. For body care, you can use Oblepikha & Honey Body Scrub. For your face, the Detox Soap for Deep Facial Cleansing is perfect for some deep cleansing. The berries from the Sea Buckthorn plant contain 12 times the amount of Vitamin C than oranges. This makes it great for skin hydration, brightening and evening out any pigmentation, signs of aging, fading scars. For the hair, it works to repair damaged hair structure, seal split ends, and even help protect it from heat.

Don’t let your face take all the attention, your body deserves a bit of love too when talking skin hydration. In this category, Casey does have a ride or die brand and that’s, Natura Siberica –  The smell is insane and makes the skin feel incredible (I have very dry skin and this helps a lot) she said.

Both the Oblepikha Siberika honey body scrub and body butter are one of my absolute favorites. They amp my skin hydration feeling youthful, silky smooth, and nourished. With a powerful formula of natural ingredients, is all you could ask for. The buckwheat honey in the scrub increases the elasticity and firmness of the skin. The organic extract of sage has a general tonic effect, helps to eliminate toxins, leaving your skin soft and smooth. And the Elfin cedar oil in the butter nourishes the skin with essential fatty acids necessary for its nutrition.

4. Rosa Canina

More commonly known as Rosehip, Rosa Canina is not to be mixed up with Rose Essential Oil, instead, it is a fruit oil that has been extracted from the seeds of the rosehip (Rosa Canina), an amber berry-like fruit that grows wild on rose bushes and is left behind after the rose has flowered and dropped its petals. RosehipPLUS® Rosehip Oil is rich in skin hydration benefits as naturally occurring vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids, such as Vitamin A (Retinol) and Vitamin C, essential fatty acids Omega-3, 6 and 9, as well as Lycopene and Beta-Carotene are core to its formula.

Rosehip Oil has been used for centuries for its potent skin regeneration properties, nourishing the skin to achieve a radiant glow, naturally. It can be used daily on all skin types and can be used on even the most sensitive skin.

This goldie may help reduce the appearance of stretch marks and scars, maintain skin hydration and softness, improve the appearance of dry and sensitive skin, minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promote skin elasticity and texture.

5. Cedar Pine

Cedar Pine, also known as Pinus Pumila, repairs the structure of the skin supporting that skin hydration our face can lack over the wintertime. The high content of vitamin C promotes the activation of collagen. It is 5 times richer in Vitamin A than Olive Oil and 3 times richer in Vitamin F than cod liver oil, reinforcing the skin’s natural barriers and protects against the harmful effects of wind, cold and severe environments. Cedar Atlantik promotes rejuvenation and also gives your skin more elasticity. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect and accelerates regeneration, reduces the appearance of scars, treats minor wounds, and helps soothe symptoms of eczema.

As a beauty enthusiast, you probably know this but a skincare routine doesn’t need to have a trillion steps to be effective, stick with the three main basics if you are not a pro on the skincare world or if you just want to slow things down a little bit. Going back to the basics is always a good idea, Casey herself stands with the idea of amp skin hydration with a simple but consistent routine, she cleanses, tones, and moisturizes with hydrating ingredients.
