No matter how broken-out, dull, or dry your skin is, sticking to a clean skin care routine, taking care of yourself from the inside out and giving the time to your products to actually make their magic is essential. Consistency is key for me and choosing the right products makes such an enormous difference when problematic skin comes to life.

If you haven’t shift already to an all clean skin care routine, then now it’s the perfect time to rethink your approach and get rid of all those products full of harsh ingredients. Some of them are filled up with preservatives, synthetic fragrances and more that can end up irritating your skin, causing congestion, redness, and a broken skin barrier.

Read below a day with me, my skin care routine and top tips on the products worth investing in.

6:30 am: Time for the first alarm, my partner and I like to rises with the sun to start the day fresh and full of energy.

7:00 a.m: Second alarm, now it’s time to get up for the day ahead but, first things first.

I like to start the day with a moment for myself. I drink some lukewarm water with lemon; then I love to take one Vida Glow Anti-G-OX Berry sachet. It’s truly delicious – It almost tastes like a treat – and I’m obsessed with the long-term benefits that this daily antioxidant supplement brings to the skin. From helping with skin regeneration to supporting healthy blood sugar levels there is no better way to start the day.

7:20 a.m: I like to do some work out before my crazy day starts, either at home pilates or a beach walk. It definitely gives me the boost I need to feel energetic and better with myself.

8:00 a.m: Time for coffee yay! And some breakfast.

8:30 a.m: My skin is really loving getting extra pampered while I’m working from home, I like to use products that clean out my pores but not strip my skin. Especially in my late twenties, the last thing I want to do is tear my skin down so in the morning I only wash my face with water, followed by a toner or face mist, no wonder everybody loves Ella Baché, Rose Hydrating Mist, it prep your skin, feels so good and smells amazing.

The next step for me is my beloved Skin Reset Serum by Emma Lewisham, I know I have talked a lot about this product, but it absolutely transformed my Skin. I do have hormonal breakouts, and this serum has helped keep my Skin balanced. Plus, it also even-toned my complexion thanks to its potent ingredients (Hi Niacinamide and Prickly Pear and much more). It’s a tiny but mighty bottle; it smells divine and looks so glam. I love it.

The last thing in my skin care routine is to add a moisturiser with SPF. Even though I’m working from home (I do have big windows where the UVA goes straight to my face). The Paula’s Choice Super-Light Daily Wrinkle Defense keeps my skin non-greasy, plus it has a sheer natural tint that makes the skin look more even and healthier.

I need to remember sometimes as a beauty editor – and someone who puts a lot of pressure on how the skin is looking – To step back, go to basics, look after the diet, and don’t overwhelm the skin with hundreds of products. It’s important to remember to yourself to don’t aim for perfection, treat your skin with love, spend your money in transparent brands and even out little areas or spots, with little dots of concealer here and there!

8:50 a.m: Now a little make up for my zoom calls, and feel better with myself. If I’ve got any breakout or redness, I spot-treat with concealer rather than layering with foundation. Basically, the more pigmented the formula, the less you need to use; I like to dab Kosas revealer super creamy + Brightening concealer with a brush only on the spot I want to cover, then pat softly to blend, don’t rub. I also like the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Magic Touch Concealer. It has buildable medium coverage but helps to brighten and blur, creating a second-skin-like finish.

Once my skin is looking dewy and fresh, I like to put some creamy products that add some colour to my cheeks and lips. I think the creamy formulas are more flattering and natural than powders. I like the Fenty Cream Blush and RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek.

Last but very important are my lashes! I love to put on some mascara that opens my eyes and make me look fresher. I currently love the Mascara Certified Organic from Inika as the ingredients are so clean, and it doesn’t make my eyelashes fall out.
