In a fusion of fashion and art, Australian-born fashion brand VRG GRL has joined hands with Swedish artist and illustrator Astrid Wilson to introduce a playful collection ready for the summer season. The collaboration is all about a crafted variety of twelfth pieces adorned with exclusive botanical prints conceptualised by Astrid herself.
Astrid Wilson is known for her bright colours and playful designs that look like nature. She added her unique artistic touch to this special collection showcasing that VRG GRL really cares about making stylish yet fun clothes for women.
Astrid, drawing inspiration comes from her childhood memories and the enchanting stories imprinted on her from that time, shares her creative journey: “Crafting this collection, my aim was to infuse my signature style with the essence of a summer garden, brimming with vitality and a vibrant palette. The initial spark for the print design came from the illustrated works of Elsa Beskow, a Swedish artist from the 19th century. I was captivated by the colours, forms, and the narrative charm of her creations. This collection was a way for me to convey similar stories through my art.”
Aiming to maintain their dedication to eco-friendly fashion, most of the pieces are crafted from 100% linen fabric. Among the standout pieces, the Fleuriste Linen Shirt stands adorned with oversized floral motifs and botanical green accents is one of our favourites. The Fleuriste Linen Vest features individual flowers, while the matching Fleuriste Linen Shorts complete the relaxed yet stylish look.
