For reasons that will forever remain a mystery to me and my vanity full of carefully curated skin care products, for the past few months, I have been dealing with some serious breakouts. Though sensitive, my skin hasn’t struggled with breakouts for years so I figured finding the solution would take time, trial and error. One month later, I am very happy to say my skin is blemish free and better than ever.

With Alya Skin’s six-step skin care routine, my irritated and inflamed breakouts are gone and my skin is glowing.

This is my Alya Skin review and here’s what I’ve been using…

Alya Skin Review The Foaming Micellar Cleanser

1. The Foaming Micellar Cleanser

As someone with very sensitive, dry skin, I usually shy away from foam cleansers but after using the Foaming Micellar Cleanser I was pleasantly surprised by how hydrating it felt. It removes makeup thoroughly and easily, and on no makeup days, it cleanses away sunscreen and moisturiser without that tight, dry feeling. The cleanser’s high Watermelon Seed Oil content has also helped to deeply cleanse and minimise the appearance of my pores.

As this cleanser contains a substantial amount of Witch Hazel which can be drying for sensitive and broken skin, I used the Foaming Micellar Cleanser every second day. For those with normal to oily skin, the Foaming Micellar Cleanser would be the perfect first step in your daily routine.

Alya Skin Review The Vitamin C Supercharged Serum

2. The Vitamin C Supercharged Serum

Possibly my favourite product in Alya’s lineup, the Alya Skin Vitamin C Supercharged Serum is enriched with Hyaluronic Acid and Australian sources of Vitamin C for plump, glowing skin. Each pump is powered by a range of antioxidant rich native extracts like Lilly Pilly Fruit, Finger Lime and Desert Lime to even discolouration, smooth fine lines, accelerate cell turn over, and protect against environmental stressors.

3. The Pink Pearl Illuminating Eye Cream

As someone who spends most of their time in front of a screen, I have loved keeping the cute little container of Pink Pearl Illuminating Eye Cream at my desk to soothe and re-energise my eyes throughout the day. The formula is lightweight, fast absorbing and packed with potent native ingredients like Tasmanian Sea Kelp, Aloe Vera, Strawberry Gum, Snowflower, and Caffeine that brighten dark circles, reduce fine lines and hydrate tired skin. The Alya Skin Pink Pearl Illuminating Eye Cream also works well as an under eye concealer and eyeshadow primer to prevent creasing.

Alya Skin Review The Australian Pink Clay Mask

4. The Australian Pink Clay Mask

Earning $6million in sales in its first year alone, Alya Pink Clay Mask has somewhat of a cult following, and after introducing it into my routine, I can understand why. The mask is packed with skin perfecting ingredients like Australian Kaolin and Bentonite Clay to draw out impurities, soothing Aloe Vera, Allantoin for gentle exfoliation, and vitamin rich Tangerine Extract.

With every use, my skin felt brighter, clearer and incredibly clean. As with the Foaming Micellar Cleanser, I use the mask less than instructed to avoid dryness. For those with normal to oily skin, the Australian Pink Clay Mask can be used on alternating days.

5. The Pomegranate Facial Exfoliator

Though the Pomegranate Facial Exfoliator promised to fight acne-causing bacteria and reduce inflammation and redness, it is very coarsely ground so I did not use it until my acne had cleared – fortunately, the range is so effective that this only took two weeks! – but even with clear and unbroken skin, I found the exfoliator slightly too harsh.

Despite not using it on my face, the Alya Skin Pomegranate Exfoliator is fantastic for the body – the Pomegranate Seeds buff away dead skin and boost circulation, and the natural Geranium Stem, Almond, and Macadamia Oils leave skin feeling silky smooth.
